Catherine's New Area... From Space!

This is a photo of Catherine's new area, San Luis, Argentina. Based on her letter, I believe she is the east part of town near the mountains. At the foot of the mountains, are the large areas of tract homes.

Catherine Endorses Blog!

Below is Catherine's Letter of June 26, 2006. Note her enthusiastic response to the Casady Family Blog:

Dear Familiy

Well like Donna Summer once said, "I feel love(d)!" Thank you for the many emails. I was so happy to hear that you are all doing so well. The Casady website was so fun! My companion asked me, " YOur family has a website?" and I said, "I guess so!" I enjoyed the fotos a lot and laughed at our cousin or whomever that ran for office. I still have plans to be the primera dama or first lady, so save your votes for 2010;)

Im so good! So happy and feel that ive grounded a little bit better after one week. My companion is so fun, we enjoy working and struggling together. I think its so funny that her name is Amanda Joy just like Amanda Lopin because we get along the same. For example, she was an EFY counselor last summer and did Drama in high school, so we walk well. We have planned a noche de hogar or Familiy home Evening for the ward and we plan to play with them games from EFY and maybe even act out the Vision of the Tree of life.

The World Cup-yes, Argentina it appears is going is in the Semi Finals. We aren´t allowed to leave the house for the games, because no one listens to us. The streets are bare as if it is Siesta and if you walk through the streets you can hear the announcer from every house. We know if they have won or not depending on the amount of fireworks we hear, si they be of joy or anguish. I wear my soccer socks that say Argentina to support the locals, but still carrry a soft spot for our neighbors the mexicanos.

The ward is so good here! The people are so nice. The bishop has only been a member three or four years. His wife maybe five. There are a lot of young couples and at the same time old members that make for a very refreshing attitude. We have a lot of people that Im hoping and praying will progress. The message is so clear, but sometimes the people still don´t understand.

Im learning how much I still dont like dogs, and will likely never own one. San Luis is like San Juan, for every house, there are three nasty dogs that sniff you or bark at you as you pass. My companion whom is 5'3" likes to turn suddenly and stare them down. I just kick them. I hope that doesn´t damage my charity pool. Probably.

I love you all terribley. I am so grateful to be part of the "Casady Glob" [ed- probably Blog, not Glob] and representing the fam on this side of the world. Hermana Casari (remember our lost relative) told me that she knew I was from California because we californians have a different look than those Utans. I told her it was the water.

que esten bien

Flaming Liberal Stains Casady Name

Mike sent us this information about a Casady running for Congress. As you can see by his website, his political views may differ from most of us. Uncle Rick, you may have a kindred spirit here!

Something Tells Me He Wouldn't Last on Fast Sunday...

Of course he deserves no respect or sympathy, but this article on Saddam Hussein's "hunger strike " shows how pathetic he really is...

Diane Ertell On Casady Geneology

The following comes from an email from Diane Ertell. She is working on the "Casady" line and is asking for help:

By the way, I was watching “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” the other night. He is really a Parker who used the name Cassidy – where our grandmother (Nonnie) is a Parker who married a Casady, but there is no relation; just interesting coincidence. Nonnie grew up in Salt Lake. “Butch’s” father emigrated from England and raised his family in Centerville - not too far from Salt Lake.

Anyway, if anyone in the family wishes to pursue the Casady line or is already doing so, I’ll take all info anyone has. (Isn’t this what old aunts in the family are supposed to do… turn into family historians? I always figured when I turned old – like 50 – I would begin doing genealogy. Interesting that our Stake calling to serve in the FHC came when I had just turned 52. Also strange, 50 no longer looks or feels that old… now that I “are one.”

The Funniest Man on the Earth

Many of you have heard us talk about him, our favorite comedian, Brian Regan. We are convinced he is the funniest human being alive. Even better, he is clean! Check out the website and if you get the chance, go and see him live!

Evolution of Dance

For those who have not seen this, Marnie and I loved this comedian's take on the "evolution of dance." Check it out:
